Final Year Project

 Title for my final year project is contact lens pick and place automation.  Alcon Sdn Bhd, a contact lenses manufacturing company which located at Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas, 81560, Gelang Patah, Johor is interested in automating one of their manufacturing process.  Hence, they collaborated with Department of Mechatronics Engineering. This provides a chance for students to expose to real industry manufacturing process.

In this project, I was given a task to help in assisting Alcon Sdn Bhd in automating their process by designing a robot which can perform contact lens pick and place.  The process I handled is at the packaging process.  In this process, contact lenses are moved from a tray into a global shell (casing to put the contact lens inside). I was required to design the mechanical structure, electronic circuitry and program the robot for this project.  At last, the robot is successfully built.
