Self Reflection
As the secretary of the Computing Gala'23 event, I had the privilege of being involved in a prestigious evening of dinner and awards, similar to the Dean's Award ceremony. In addition to my secretarial responsibilities, I was entrusted with managing unit publicity and external affairs, which allowed me to expand my skills and contribute to the overall success of the event.
As the secretary, one of my primary responsibilities was to ensure effective communication and coordination among the organizing committee. I was responsible for organizing and documenting meetings, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, and keeping everyone informed about the progress and updates related to the event.
Handling unit publicity and external affairs was an exciting aspect of my position. I was responsible for promoting the Computing Gala'23 event to the wider audience, both within the university and beyond. This involved creating and implementing publicity strategies, such as managing social media accounts, and coordinating with various media channels.
Being involved in the Computing Gala'23 event provided me with valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth. As the secretary, I further developed my organizational and time management skills, ensuring that tasks were completed efficiently and deadlines were met. Additionally, handling unit publicity and external affairs enhanced my communication and marketing skills, as I learned to effectively convey the key messages and highlights of the event to a diverse audience.
Overall, my role as the secretary of the Computing Gala'23 event, while also handling unit publicity and external affairs, was a fulfilling and enriching experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the success of the event and for the support and cooperation of the committee members and stakeholders involved.
