AWS Academy Cloud Foundations Badges

2022-01-22 (7).png

Here is my AWS badge, and then there are two pdfs below, one with my grades for each module and the other with what I learned in AWS for each objective.

What is AWS?

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a secure cloud platform that offers a wide range of global cloud-based services. Because these products are delivered over the Internet, you can access and manage to compute, store, networks, databases, and other IT resources and tools that your project may need, as needed. You can immediately provision and launch AWS resources. You can use these resources in minutes. AWS provides flexibility. AWS environments can be reconfigured and upgraded as needed, automatically scaled up or down to match usage patterns and optimized spending, and temporarily or permanently shut down. .. AWS service billing is an operating cost, not a capital cost. AWS services are designed to work together to support almost any type of application or workload. Think of these services as building blocks that can be quickly assembled into complex, scalable solutions and adapted to changing needs.

The journey of getting the AWS badge

The whole process of getting the AWS journey was so much fun because I didn't expect that I would have the opportunity to learn something for free outside of the classroom!

To earn the badge, you must first enroll in an AWS course with an instructor, then watch all course videos and complete over 80% of the knowledge check for each course. Of course, there are also Labs to learn from. This experiment can be done by following the steps given next to it. AWS emails you a badge when you complete all courses.
I started my module 1 on 14th December 2021 and finished it on 23rd December 2021, I completed all 10 modules within 10 days.

I usually use dual screens, one side is the content of the video, and the other is the content of the nota, which is more convenient for me to understand and learn. I didn't arrange a special time, I watched the film when I had time because the length of the film was still within an acceptable range.

Cloud computing knowledge is very important because today's world is very dependent on the Internet. With the continuous accumulation of data and information, cloud services have become a good solution, so it is especially recommended that traditional enterprises transform their business into an online mode by implementing cloud computing technology. In the beginning, I knew nothing about AWS, not even who it was. Now I have a basic understanding. See what I wrote in AWS Objective for details.

The badge is in the shape of a pentagonal arrow, you can see the badge in my e-portfolio. Badges are worthwhile and feel rewarding after putting in the effort to complete the task. Computer science students should have the opportunity to learn about cloud computing and earn an AWS badge because this course has benefited us a lot.

Reflections AWS

1. A summary of what you have gained from completing the course (get a badge)

Cloud computing knowledge is very important because today's world is very dependent on the internet. With the continuous accumulation of data and information, cloud services have become a good solution, so it is especially recommended that traditional enterprises transform their business into an online mode by implementing cloud computing technology. AWS would be the right platform to learn about cloud computing. The course consists of 10 modules, each of which takes a considerable amount of time to complete. My motivation for completing this module is to gain more knowledge. Honestly, the topics covered in the course are easy at first, but then become more difficult, so it takes more time to digest them. Badges are worthwhile and feel rewarding after putting in the effort to complete the task. Computer science students should have the opportunity to learn about cloud computing and earn an AWS badge because this course has benefited us a lot.

2. Your motivation to complete this project?

The motivation is because I want to understand the current technology trends, after all, as a computer science student, I have followed these many times. It understands the advancement of technology today. These technologies can be used and brought convenience to our daily life. Honestly, this program affects my grades. Of course, I know the teacher intends to use the grades to inspire us to understand and learn AWS courses and knowledge.

3. Your opinion whether getting the badge is easy or difficult? Which module is the easiest/most difficult

Startup modules are easier to understand and faster to complete. After all, it is a basic understanding of the cloud. But this is just the beginning. Intermediate Module 5 becomes more difficult. In Module 5, networking and content delivery are discussed. This module is also a long lesson in the movie, so it takes more time to understand. Of course, there are also personal reasons, such as unfamiliarity with the topic and discussion content, which also led me to watch the course videos repeatedly to understand.

4. What’s a badge worth?

Badges are worth it, but not worth it either. It allows me to demonstrate that I have learned and understood the knowledge and skills of cloud computing. But what we see in society is more competence and practice. It would be more valuable if I applied the knowledge and skills I learned to the invention. Badges are only certification, not verification.

5. Feedback on whether getting the badge to improve your knowledge and skills on Cloud Computing

Learn about the AWS Cloud Computing Online Course. Topics covered, such as Introduction to Cloud Computing and AWS Services, provide an in-depth understanding of how cloud computing works. Whether or not the badges have had an impact on improving my knowledge in this area, what matters is whether or not I assimilate that knowledge.

6. Your opinion on whether every company should shift to Cloud Computing?

I support companies moving to the cloud, but it's not for all companies. The benefits of cloud computing are many, so I'd love for you to try them out, like reducing your company's expenses, allowing the company to focus more on the product, not having to maintain physical servers and resizing servers, and letting you pay for what you go, only for what you use Pay and even maintain the server for you. Because of these benefits, I am more insistent on supporting cloud computing.

7. Your opinion on whether every computer science/UTM student should learn Cloud Computing (get the AWS badge?)

As a computer science student, I feel this is necessary. With today's advanced technology, cloud computing has become a must for computer science. In addition, classmates with badges can also prove that you have learned knowledge and content reserves, which make our resumes look better. Therefore, cloud computing will become a valuable skill.

8. Any advice to your friends who have not gotten the AWS badge yet?

I recommend my friends to take this course as soon as possible because it is completely free and when you complete all the modules, you will understand AWS and cloud computing and master this skill. You will also receive a badge to prove you have completed the course.

9. What is your direction after completing the badge?

After getting the badge, I will continue to study cloud computing. After all, I am studying in the Department of Computer Science, and knowing more about this will be beneficial in the future, so I will continue to study hard.

10. Your opinion about getting the AWS badge that is included in SECP1513 subject

The AWS badge is great for me as part of the SECP1513 topic, and I would like to thank the instructor for incorporating AWS into our curriculum. This is very beneficial for students. It taught us a lot and gave everyone extra skills.
