Overall Course Reflection
Probability and Statistics Data Analysis (PSDA) was very beneficial course to me. This course taught me a lot about statistics. This projects and assignments in this course were all interesting and educational. The quizzes and exams assessed my knowledge of the course and provided an opportunity for me to improve my mistakes. One aspect of this course that I like the most was the learning styles methods and teaching techniques used by my lecturer, Dr. Nies Hui Wen. She is an encouraging and helpful lecturer. She constantly encourages us to participate in class, even if it is an online class; she never makes the class dull and always encourages the students.
Not only that, but Dr. Nies Hui Wen was always there to answer my doubts and help me anytime when I need assistance. I now have a basic understanding of probability and statistics, as well as how to do a data analysis, thanks to this course.
Reflection Project 2
Project 2 is my second project for the course Probability and Statistical Data Analysis. This project is mostly focused with inferential statistics, in which my team and I must form conclusions about a population based on the data we observed. Since this is a group project, my team consists of three persons, including myself. This project taught me that the most important aspect of a group project is cooperation. It is because if one team member does not contribute to the project, the other team members will feel irritated and burdened to do the work that the one person should perform so that the entire team does not lose marks. Luckily, my teammates are cooperative and communicative. We had no misunderstandings, and we always shared and received all our perspectives while discussing the project.
I had a hard time with this assignment because it was my first-time programming in R. Although I had previously learnt programming languages, R programming is unique in that we must calculate statistical values. As a result, I had to spend additional time to studying R programming and finally, I was able to calculate the statistics value I need for my project with the assistance of Dr. Nies Hui Wen's lecture slides on R programming.
This project has taught me how to do a proper inferential analysis. I conducted a hypothesis 2 sample test in this project. It was interesting because after analyzing the variable that I selected for my 2-sample test, I can learn more about it and determine whether the inference statement I suggested before the testing is true. Furthermore, this project enables me in understanding the relation between multiple factors. I am hoping that this project will help me in the future when I am in a situation where I need to do an analysis.
