Mini Report:

Geo Inspire Nature Camp 2020 is a programme organised by the UTM Geoinformatics Club to implement social activities in an attempt to assist locals in protecting the environment. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science (Geoinformatics) can participate in the Geo Inspire Nature Camp 2020. The programme intends to assist Desaru beach locals in cleaning up the waste in the area, such as plastic bottles and oil. In addition, the event is more diverse, which includes beach cleaning and mudball throwing activities that are carefully designed with elements that can help to restore the condition of the river from the pollution that has occurred there. The programme also includes collaborating with environmentalists to clean up the area near Desaru Beach and its environs. In addition to that, it is very useful for us since it provides a great amount of experience that will be extremely important in the future in order to live a healthier lifestyle.

Self-Reflection:

Overall, by participating in this program, I have gained a great deal of experience and I am very excited about being a part of it because it is affiliated with various organizations as well as it allows me to meet new people. I believe that this type of programme will continue in the coming years, so that we may gain new knowledge and develop our skills. In addition, it covers elements such as leadership and teamwork. This is due to the fact that we have been divided into different groups in order to clean up the coastal region of Desaru. As a result, it will help me improve my leadership abilities by ensuring that everyone in the group completes their given tasks, as well as strengthen my bonds with my teammates. Although there were some difficulties, such as miscommunication and a time limit, we were able to overcome them in the end. Since this programme is about the climate around us, it can show everyone just how not maintaining the surroundings healthy can hurt the wildlife ecosystem and consequently cause climate change.
