Persis Team Building Camp 2019

Committee member as Treasurer and event participant 

PERSIS Team Building 2019 is a program organised by Pembimbing Rakan Siswa UTM. The program was held on the 17th of April 2019 in Dewan Serbaguna KTHO, UTM. This programs serves the purpose to introduce and to strengthen the bond among the members from different universities in order to be able to conduct and collaborate together for more impactful programs in the future. Besides, the objective of this event is to build and enhance the confidence among all the participants and within the organization members. Furthermore, this program is to instill the leadership and teamworking skills among the members which  are essential graduate attributes for students especially for their future working life.  Apart from that, even though it is a one day event, it also helps to enhance the communication and adaptability skills as the participants are comprise of members from different universities and background. During this event, there were many team building based activities were held for all the participants to take part and have fun while learning and gaining a valuable experience.

As the treasurer of the event, I was mainly responsible in all the affairs relating to finance to support the event and making it a success. The main challenge I had by holding the responsibility as treasurer was to ensure the good financial planning and budgeting and also the process of claiming the money from university. I had keep track and organized the receipts well as well as managing and keeping the floating fund provided well. I worked with the committee members of departments such as food, souvenirs and activity to ensure the budget is sufficient and used wisely with proof of payments. I also assisted the director in keeping track of the department's progress relating to finance especially and also other affairs. I have also practiced team working by helping my fellow committee members for the setting up and cleaning of the event venue before, during and after the event. During the event, I gave full commitment and support by actively participating in the activities such as in the debate activity related to UNDI 18 as I carry the name of UTM as a student. Besides, I also participated in other team building activities and gained friends from UITM Jasin. Through the event, it helped me to further enhance my confidence, debating skills, critical thinking skills and also leadership skills as I took lead in some of the activities. In conclusion, I have gained benefits by being the organizing committee and also a participant of this event.
