On 16 November 2019, the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia Student Section organized a program called Iem- A Date with Engineers 2.0. The purpose of joining this activity was to expose myself with industrial revolution 4.0 and the preparation that can be done. I have get the knowledge on the requirements that each industries and companies are looking for in an employee. The graduate attributes that were focused on during this activity was adaptability. The speakers have shown us the reality in the current industry. The speaker taught us the way to adapt ourselves in the industry field later. The current industry is revolution to 4.0. Moreover, I learned to adapt myself according to the growth of the technology, to increase the speed of innovation and is very consumer cantered, leading to faster design processes.
There was a slot where it was full of tips on analyzing a problem and thinking critically. The tips are really helpful to think critically to be advance from others. It is difficult to replace this ability with technological developments. This ability will also encourage creativity. Thinking critically skill is one of the main elements will be noticed by the employer in an employee.The activity was mainly focused on to give an exposure about industrial revolution 4.0 and preparation for it to the students. Apart from that, the forum also discussed the quality that should be possessed by a fresh graduate engineering student. The 4 speakers are experts in different field but all of them have vast experience in engineering. Kahoot Game and lucky draw were held during the refreshment and networking session.
The speaker taught how to adapt according to the revolution of the industry. This can achieve the target and become more productive person. By improving the adaptability skill within myself I manage adapt myself according to the situation. As a student, I manage my time very well to extra curriculum activities and studies as well. Hereby, I can adapt myself in the stress situation by managing the time very well. This really can help me in work field later, to adapt myself in chaos and stress situation to handle the pressures wisely. A clear brief about the industry revolution 4.0 serves as an eye opener for the students. The advantage from this activity is, gained a clear picture of the requirements for a fresh graduate to get into a working field later. So, now I started to prepare myself to overcome the challenges later in the work field by enhancing my adaptability skill. Another advantage is, I learned how to maximize the usage of the technologies to help revolution industry to grow further. Every growing technology can lead to dangerous too. More than ever we should ethical in usage of technology. Its was really pleasure to join this program as it was a mind blowing program that helps me to develop myself as a engineer to be.
