The "Sambutan Tahun Baru Cina" event, held on January 13, 2023, at Kolej Tunku Razak, UTM, was a vibrant celebration of the Chinese New Year organized for university students who were unable to return home for the festival. The objective of the event was to provide an opportunity for students to come together and celebrate the Chinese New Year in a joyful and festive atmosphere.
The program featured various Chinese traditional shows performed by talented students, including colorful lion dances, mesmerizing dragon dances, and traditional music performances. These performances not only entertained the audience but also showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese community.
In addition to the cultural performances, the event also included symbolic activities such as eating mandarin oranges and making wishes using sky lanterns. These activities allowed participants to immerse themselves in Chinese traditions and rituals associated with the New Year.
The event successfully created a sense of community and unity among the participants, fostering a supportive environment for students who were away from their families during this special time. It provided an opportunity for cultural exchange and appreciation, promoting cross-cultural understanding and friendship among diverse student communities.

Participating in the "Sambutan Tahun Baru Cina" event was a memorable and enjoyable experience for me. It was heartwarming to see students from different backgrounds coming together to celebrate and embrace the Chinese culture.
Attending the event taught me the value of cultural diversity and the importance of celebrating and respecting different traditions. It highlighted the significance of community and togetherness, especially during festive occasions when some individuals may be away from their families.
