SECI2143-Probability & Statistical Data Analysis

Project 1

Introduction

In this era, Parents tend to believe that playing games will make their children not be able to perform well in their studies. We believe that it is just a myth to scare the children so that they wont be too attach to their gadget all the time. Hence, We conducted a research to prove that gamer will be able to perform well despite the amount of hours he spent on gaming. We also want to prove that playing games will not affects your health nor your lifestyle because most of the gamer still able to be active person that participate in outdoor activities at least once a week.

Conclusion

In Conclusion,we are able to prove our objective that gaming does not affect students performance because there are students who spend quite some time with games but still be able to maintain their grade. We are also be able to prove that students who play games still concern about their health by participating outdoor activities at least once a week.Other than that, we also be able to prove the myth that always being talk by the society where play games will make you less intelligent is actually not true.

Reflection Of Project 1

The Reflection that can be made after finishing project 1 Probability and Statistics by me is I get to learnt the ways to conduct a survey using the google form. This is probably my first time get to create and design the question of google form that I think is going to be one of the useful soft skills that I have to develop to become a software engineer. Conducting a survey in our working environment is useful because software engineer also needs to know how to collect data from respondent so that they can prove their research to be relevant easily.

Other than that, I have also learnt how to write a good methodology for our research. This skill is useful for the upcoming event as writing a good methodology means that we properly conduct our research to avoid making errors while calculating. It also proves that a good methodology can secure the relevancy of the data obtain based on the research that we conduct. By the end of the project, I get to learnt a lot of advantages or qualitative data and also qualitative data. Both of this data are useful to conduct a good research, although quantitative is more reliable compared to qualitative. Although we only manage to use quantitative data in our research, it does not mean that our research is not accurate. Quantitative data makes our research easier to be conduct as it enables us to analyse and interpret the data using calculation that is more precise and accurate compare to qualitative which requires a good observation skill to come up with a good reasoning. Qualitative data is not accurate enough as it can be only proven with reasoning and not by calculation which is more accurate.

Next, I also get to improve my analysing skills to interpret the graph. To be able to come up with a good research, it is recommended to have a good graph analysing and interpreting skills. The better skills of it, the lesser error that will occur during analysing the data that we obtain, especially when handling quantitative data which also requires a good mathematics skill. This project has really sharpened my analysing skills that might be useful for my upcoming career which requires a lot of analysing skills.

Lastly, I have also developed a good team communication skill which is one of the most useful skills to be mastered especially by software engineer. During this pandemic, we were hard to communicate with each other to discuss about our project. Luckily, we found a suitable platform such as discord to communicate between each other about our project. This particular skill is one of the most useful skills that I get to sharpened compared to other skills as communication is one of key to be able to successfully create a good team. I also would like to thank Dr.Chan Weng Howe for giving me opportunity to enhance my soft skills through this project.
