Attached below are the pictures captured during the preparation of the program and after the program ended.
During this program, I learned how to communicate effectively, as I needed to interact directly with lecturers, crew members, and the campsite staff. This required me to listen attentively, speak clearly, and be open to suggestions. As I was responsible for handling accommodations, I had to ensure that the campsite could accommodate all participants and crew members despite budget constraints. This involved creating a detailed plan to determine the most suitable and cost-effective tent sizes. While managing this, I also improved my negotiating skills as I needed to deal with the campsite staff to get the best deal offered. In addition, I learned to be flexible and how to think creatively by adjusting the tentative suitably when any unforeseen occurrences occur.
During the first day AKRAB23 program, upon arriving at the campsite, the participants are divided into groups to do an ice-breaking session, followed with a sharing session by the lecturers and alumni and other group activities such as explorace. On the second day, the participants must complete the jungle trekking, survival training course, and kayak rafting competition. All of these activities demand thinking skills to create their strategies along with developing great teamwork. On the last day of this program, we went to Pantai Air Papan in Mersing to help clean the beach. This activity aimed at fostering potential leaders within the corporate community who are responsible for their surroundings and those around them. Ultimately, the program was successful in achieving its objectives, which included fostering bonds among the new students, enhancing their communication skills, and honing their soft skills.
- Position/Role: Vice Director
- Graduate Attributes:
- Leadership & Teamworking Skills: As a vice director of the program, I am responsible for coordinating with all of the program's units, including sponsorship, protocol, multimedia, and others. In this area, I need to be conscious of all issues that arise in each unit so that I can assist in leading and resolving the difficulties, as well as coordinating with each unit to ensure that the project runs effectively.
- Thinking Skills: This program consists of 107 participants and 41 crew members. Therefore, it requires a lot of consideration when it comes to time management as we must ensure that the tentative is well-planned and that the program's objectives are met. The key component in planning is to estimate how long one activity will require 107 individuals to complete it.
- Communication Skills: In this program, I'm in charge of dealing with the campsite regarding the accommodation, quotation, and facilities provided. I need to ensure and coordinate with the campsite so that all of the prerequisites for running this program are fulfilled.
