industry visiting CICT
We visited to CICT and also gallery/ "museum" ,there was displayed some electronic component and old computer, laptop and printer that we never seen before. I know that
- The function of mainframe terminal used wires to connect keyboard and Monitor and it so heavy. It’s used command prompt to open file and also displayed by black and green color only.
- Mainframe can divide and adjust RAM that which parts you prefer to use.
- Controller that save data storage in small amount but which is enough for old generations people, but now we need to use flash drive to save more data storage.
- Back then, people only can see picture in white and black only compare with our generation that can see all colorful pictures.
- Comparing nowadays, old component only single slot, but now we have more core processor to use.
- Mainframe data storage save all data , it have same function with hard disk.
- IBM Mainframe CPU controlled performance of computer.
- Mainframe tape subsystem control drive function is to create file or nowadays we call it new folder
- IBM Magnetic tape unit function is to read the file.
- IBM Tape control unit is to save data files of tape.
- Rack Mount Server is the rack that store server. It must use electricity for a long time.
- The old computer or laptop more heavy compare with computer or laptop nowadays.
