Data Engineering Symposium was organized by PERSAKA on 27 April 2021. The topic of this symposium was "Career Track in Data Engineering". The speaker was Ms. Qistina Batrisyia Binti Azman Shah, which is also an UTM alumni majoring in Bachelor of Computer Science (Data Engineering). The aim of this symposium is to share about the career path and opportunities as a data engineer in the current industry.

The speaker, Ms. Qistina shared her journey from being a data engineering student in UTM to a data engineer in TMONE. She explained what is data engineering, roles of data engineer and the skills needed. She also shared her thoughts on data engineering as a career. Besides that, Ms. Qistina also provided her tips and tricks for students to achieve success in the future. After that, Ms. Qistina managed to answer all the data engineering related question asked by the students and the audience during the Q&A session.

I have learnt a lot about data engineering from the symposium. This event is very meaningful for me as I am also a data engineering student. Ms. Qistina has shared her tips and experience, and answered several questions that kill my curiosity about data engineering course in terms of academic and also internship. I need to improve myself as Ms. Qistina had mentioned many skills that is required by a data engineer, whether they are soft skills or technical skills, both are very important. Her experiences could be my guidance when I go for internship and workplace in the future. To be a successful data engineer, we need to first like our job as a data engineer. I hope that I can also be a successful data engineer in the future.
