Mini Report
The 2019 Arab Futsal Cup was unpredictable and finished with a new name being inscribed on the trophy. After the draw for the finals many expected, considering their complete domination in the past, Libya and Saudi Arabia would meet at the semi-final stage with the winner going on to take the title. Neither made it that far and instead it featured Algeria and Yemen, the culprits for sending the favorites home earlier than expected.
Regardless of overcoming the main countries to win the opposition, it wasn't to be one of those that would take the title. Rather the champ came from the opposite side of the draw which included Egypt (our team), Tunisia and Morocco. The last was presumably the top choice there yet they were shockingly taken out in the last 16 by Sudan.
Self-reflection
I had a big experience in dealing with such competitions as I have joined a lot of football and futsal contests before. So the feeling was not that big deal in the event and also I had good knowledge from previous tournaments. But the challenge feeling was different this time. Furthermore, playing in a country and new environment is another big challenge, as I used to play football or futsal in different countries before I come to Malaysia such as Egypt and Oman, which have very different weather and a totally different environment.
