Assalamualaikum and Hi!
During the last semester break, I've done my industrial training for 3 months at May Chemical Sdn. Bhd. I choose this company because I believe that Allah has plan this for me. Everything was really smooth from the day I called the company and asked if they provide any internship placement. Actually they just started the internship training last year. So, I am the 5th internship trainee and 1st female intern. I was so lucky because I got to work into 2 different teams which are QA/QC team and Technical Team.
In QA/QC team, we always doing the same routine tasks. The task include performing laboratory tests on chemicals, performing heavy metal test using ICP-OES, preparing document related to QA/QC which are certificate of analysis (COA), product specification and safety data sheets.
In Technical Team, every week I got to learn something new and exciting. This team involve in handling new projects and provide consultation service in wastewater treatment. One of the project I've been involved was aluminium anodizing project. We got a request from a company in Johor to determine the best condition for aluminium anodizing. They just provide several parameters like the targeted aluminium thickness. We did try and error by manipulating the anode-cathode distance, changing the bath temperature and introduce some agitation during anodizing.
Besides that, I got to work at one of their loyal customer's place, Hanwha Q CELLS Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. for a month. May Chemical supplies chemicals for wastewater treatment at Q CELLS. Therefore, Mr. Roy, me and another intern (Jo) were there to monitor the wastewater treatment performance. We also monitor their wet scrubber performance as May Chemical also supplies chemical for NOx treatment.
I am so grateful for having chances to meet so many wonderful people and supportive colleagues who led me through this internship period. I also got to learn new culture like hungry ghost festival which I've never know before.
We were celebrating our boss birthday on 22nd August 2019.
Even I've finished the industrial training, we still make time for having lunch together. They are my 'makan2 geng'.
