RSS
By taking this course, my knowledge about how computers work increased by a lot because the lectures are focusing on how computers work for the most part. This is really helpful as not only it will help me to prepare for my future career in the computer science field but it also can be applied to my daily life as a student who uses a laptop to spend most of my time. Besides that, this course has introduced me to the Design Thinking steps by assigning me to do a group project regarding the topic which I find helpful to gives us experience on how to work in a team to create a certain product where I believe every company applies it to create a new product to market.

The Importance and Trending of IT Project Management
On 1 December 2020, I have attended the second industrial talk by Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd. UTM has invited Mohd Khairul Reeza Ruslan (Head of Project Management Office Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd) to be the speaker to share the importance and trending of IT project management.
My reflection:
This talk has introduced a new job scope for me to consider besides software engineer. This talk makes me realize how important IT project management is in the industry. As the talk emphasizes a lot about soft skills, I plan to enhance my soft skills as I am still lacking in that sector.

Alumni Sharing Session
On 1 December 2020, I have attended an alumni sharing session from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. UTM JB has invited 4 alumni which are Qistina Batrisya(Social Media Data Analyst with almost 1-year experience), Tan Yong Keong (Data Science Engineer ), Mohamad ZamarulAkmal (Data Engineer at PPG Coatings), and Teo Wen Long (Software Engineer at Qumon Intelligence)to share their work experience and tips on how to survive during the pandemic.
My reflection:
From this talk, I realize that having good soft and hard skills are very crucial. Soft skills will help us ease our workflow and hard skill become our fundamental knowledge in our work. Companies look for students that have these criteria as they have the potential to be good workers. I am inspired to keep polishing my soft and hard skills so they can be a great fundamental for my job in the future.
