SECP1513-07 - TECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATION SYSTEM (TIS)

It sounds cliche but in our first class, we have to introduce ourselves to others. This introduction session feels different because we were using padlet. We are sharing our information on padlet and it will appear in front of the class. I find it is interesting since we also can include our picture in it. I guess that using a platform like padlet makes class become more fun and interactive.

• Our first industrial visit was New Academia Learning Innovation (NALI) 2019.
• NALI was been held on 18/9/2019.
• It has been held at Convention Hall, Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying (FABU), UTM, Johor Bahru.

• The objective of NALI is :

   

  -To involve NALI's research in teaching and learning with exhibitions and competition

  - To create a program where sharing of research and innovation in teaching and learning will happen.

  - To enhance educators' ability to practice teaching and learning in the 21st Century through the NALI program

• We had been asked to make a report based on our visit.

• Our second industrial visit was Media and Game Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGICX).
• This industrial visit was been held on 6/10/2019.
• It has been held at T03, University Industry Research Laboratory (UIRL), UTM, Johor Bahru.
• MaGICX was established in 2013, it is a strategic cooperation between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA).
• MaGICX wants to be the anchor for Games and Gamification industry & the nucleus for Iskandar Malaysia Innovation Valley.
• MaGICX mission was to create specific environment where can make everyone want to be the good one of the best.

• Our third industrial visit was Perpustakaan Sultanah Zanariah (PSZ).
• This industrial visit was been held on 20/10/2019.
• It has been held at Aras 2, Perpustakaan Sultanah Zanariah (PSZ), UTM, Johor Bahru.

• UTM Library placed in the middle of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Skudai.

• It was officiated by Her Majesty Sultanah Zanariah, the Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia on 3^rd February 1991.

• Galerium UTM was divided into several smaller galleries such as University Heritage Gallery, Microfilm Gallery, Information Technology Gallery and Audience Gallery. The artifacts on display are equipment used by people in 1970s and 1990s.

• CICT is a support unit that offers and delivers ICT service for the university’s member

• Design thinking is a process that we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and find the problems in an attempt to identify alternative strategies and solve the problems.
• Design thinking involves some experiments like sketching, prototyping, and testing.
• For design thinking presentation we have been given our own topic.
• For my group, we got Chapter 4: System Software .
• System software is a type of computer program with function to run a computer’s hardware and application programs.

This is our last TIS class with Dr. Sarina. This class really helped me in every aspect that I am lack of. From the bottom of my heart, thank you and appreciate all you have done. You are truly an inspiration.
