REFLECTION

As the Head of the Protocol Unit for the Opera 2023 program has been an enlightening and fulfilling experience, marked by a multitude of responsibilities and valuable lessons. The role demanded a meticulous approach to detail, effective communication, and the ability to navigate diplomatic intricacies. Coordinating with staff, high-ranking officials, and guests provided me with a firsthand understanding of the critical role that protocol plays in the seamless execution of events.

One of the key aspects of this role was the need for quick decision-making and adaptability in response to unforeseen challenges. Whether it was adjusting to last-minute changes in the schedule or addressing unexpected protocol issues, the experience sharpened my problem-solving skills and highlighted the importance of staying calm under pressure.

Being at the helm of the Protocol Unit emphasized the significance of teamwork and effective leadership. Collaborating with a diverse team, each member contributing their unique skills, showcased the power of synergy in achieving a common goal. Delegating responsibilities while maintaining open communication was crucial in ensuring that every aspect of the protocol was executed with precision.

Witnessing the positive outcomes of our collective efforts during the Opera 2023 program, from the smooth flow of events to the satisfaction of participants and guests, reinforced the vital role of protocol in creating a distinguished and memorable experience. The role not only deepened my understanding of diplomatic etiquette but also honed my organizational and interpersonal skills.

In retrospect, being the Head of the Protocol Unit has been a journey of growth and self-discovery. It has provided me with insights into the complexities of diplomatic coordination, event management, and the nuances of leadership.
