MINI REPORT
USR'22: Funcode Camp is a UTM Top Bidder initiative designed to improve secondary school students' coding skills throughout Malaysia by using Scratch as the primary platform. The students in this program compete in two events: a quiz and a one-week coding challenge using Scratch 2.0. The drag and drop programming idea used in Scratch 2.0 will make it simpler for participants to learn. Students may showcase their creativity and acquire skills for lifetime learning by using Scratch.
The Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer (PERSAKA) was the event's organiser. The event took place via Webex from May 28 through June 4, 2022. There are one-week slots available for tutors to teach students how to use Scratch.
After the epidemic, I participated in this hybrid program for the first time. I was given the opportunity to conduct a physical program with my university peers thanks to this program.
SELF REFLECTION
Overall, this was my best hybrid program because there are some people that I know in there. So, they teach me everything that they experienced before. I learn a lot from this program, and I will always remember it as one of my best university experiences.
In addition, several members of the crew participate online. As a result, there was a manpower shortage, but the staff from the other department was always willing to pitch in when we needed it. This program has taught me how to quickly and effectively solve problems, which was essential to the program's success. Through creating montage and humorous posters for a secondary school, I have also developed my creative side.
Despite several challenges, the initiative was ultimately successful. I was thrilled with the opportunity I was given, though. With my fellow crew members, I made wonderful memories, and the physical program gave me fresh experiences. After the pandemic gap, working physically was a joy.
