Group Project

For group project, we have done presentation for case Citicorp Building. My group consists of three members. The members are Nurul Nazikha binti Ab Rahim, Yap Yan Zhi and me. The presentation's objective is to study the case of Citicorp building and to learn how the engineer solve the ethical problem. 

As we know, Citicorp building case is the most popular cases in 1960 where the engineer fixed the problem by their own and saved many loves by their quick actions. For the beginning, the purpose of this building is for the new church to replace the decaying one and build their office building without any structural connection to the church. This project is conducted by LeMessurier. However, Diane Hartley found out the structure of the building is weak against quartering winds from her study and calculation. 

As an engineer, LeMessurier acknowledge about this and made a quick decision to fix his calculation and the building. Even he knows, if he admit his mistake, he will faced lawsuits, bankruptcy  and social obligation. But, he concerned more on people live and his action has prevented the building from collapse. 

Another project is survey on factor that affect the choice of career of FKE engineering student. In this survey, we focused on electrical students and we want to indentify the reason why the students choose or not choosing engineering as their future works.
