SUMAYAU WORKSHOP AND COMPETITION 2023 was being held on 27th May 2023 at Dewan Sri Merbau, KTDI, UTM. This programme aims to enhance the participant's knowledge regarding one of Malaysia's culture based in Sabah which is the Bajau Ethnic. Furthermore, another objective of this programme is to showcase student's talents which mainly highlights a student's ability to dance. For this event, participants that were involved in this programme includes UTM Students.
Among the activities held during the event includes Dance Workshop Session and Showcase. As for both dance workshop and showcase, students were divided into 8 groups. Each group were handled by a facilitator to ease the activity processes. Based on the Bajau Ethnic of Sabah, participants were able to acquire the dance skill of Bajau's traditional dance where each element of the dance represents the daily life of Bajau people.
Finally, I am pleased with the whole process of the programme as it successfully highlight the use of important skills such as communication, thinking and teamworking. I am thankful that I was able to lead a large amount of participants and have successfully thought them the varied knowledge of Bajau Ethnicity.
