The journey of my internship :)
Company: National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
Time: 8.00 am – 5.00 pm
Date/ Day: 23 July 2018 – Monday
Activities:
- Have a discussion with the supervisor, Encik Hanafi about the report for the OSH Compliance Support Programme as there is a problem regarding the reports.
- I went to the Industrial Hygiene Laboratory to do the analysis for the benzene monitoring with Encik Rochi.
- Encik Rochi conducted this analysis and he taught me how to do a sample handling and instrument handling.
- He introduced the machine that is used in the benzene analysis.
- We used Gas Chromatography with detector FID.

Date/ Day: 24 July 2018 – Tuesday
Activities:
- Went to the Finance Department to request the invoice to PERKESO for the 3 companies which are Mega Alpha Technology SDN. BHD, TPI Paper Product Industries SDN. BHD. and Kamunting C.H. Industries SDN. BHD.
- Make a checklist table using Microsoft Excel for all the companies involved.
Date/ Day: 25 July 2018 – Wednesday
Activities:
- Went to the Industrial Hygiene Laboratory to do the sample preparation for the benzene test.
- Prepared the sample of charcoal for day 2.
- Make slides to present to the UTM supervisor which includes the project done during this internship and the problems that I faced.
- I told my manager, Pn Zainatul Arafah about the presentation and she asked me to briefed her what project did I present.

Activities:
- Prepared for the presentation that need to be presented to the faculty supervisor, Dr. Natrah
- I discussed with Pn Norshuhada about the project that I need to present.
- I presented about the OSH Compliance Support and WISE project and also the chemical monitoring project.
Date/ Day: 27 July 2018 – Friday
Activities:
- Have a discussion with Encik Hanafi about the progress of the project reports
- I have been given a task to learn about the Occupational Health and Safety management.
