Mini Report:
Sukan Sekolah Komputeran (SUSKOM) is an annual event held and conducted by Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer (PERSAKA) UTM. There are abundant of activities and games held in the event. Few of those activities are Futsal, Volleyball, Explorace, and Netball for outdoor games. There are also indoor games such as E-sport, and Badminton. All student from Sekolah Komputeran are eligible to participate in those games. Food trucks also provided throughout the week where students can enjoy delicious foods and beverages with affordable price.
I was chosen to be a committee member of this event under the sponsorship department. It was actually one of the toughest department as we have to go pursue companies and convince them to sponsor our small event. My team and I emailed more than 100 companies 3 months before the event started. We managed to found 4 companies who are willingly to sponsor and of course under certain condition. One of the companies that we manage to convince is 2 Hotel companies located in Johor Bahru.
Students seem to really enjoy this event as they can play sports they like and bonding with their friends. They also get to release their stress and enjoy good foods and activities.
Self-reflection:
in this event, I was mentally exhausted rather than physically because I had to think how to approach big companies to sponsor our event. However, it was one of the greatest experience I have ever had because it was not an easy task to be in sponsorship department but my team and I managed to got few sponsors. This event teach me how to handle things rationally and professionally.
