My Internship Experience
For 3 month of MJIIT's Industrial Traing, I get chosen to do my industrial training at Gas Processing Plant at Santong, Terengganu starting from 11/06/2018 until 30/08/2018. I was assigned under Department of Turnaround and Shutdown. The 3 months Internship Program is undoubfully gives a lot of benefit to me. From the very first day with the Gas Processing Santong and Department of Turnaround and shutdown office, everyone welcomed me as a member of the team. I get to meet with many incredible persons including my supervisor, Mr Hamzah Bin Nawawi. The first months is sufficient enough to get to know and understand the job scopes, to adapt with new environment, to get know every staff in GPS and have a lot of opportunity to join their activities. I also get the chance to join Turnaround GPP6 project at GPS for 1 month which very rare opportunity to come by. During the turnaround period, I were assigned under Document Controller where the team are responsible for controlling the numbering, filing, sorting and retrieval of electronically stored or hard copy documentation produced by technical teams, projects or departments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. After joining the team, i realized the important of documentation. Everything need to be recorded for future references.
I would like to thank the Industrial Training Committee of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for granting us the opportunity to develop ourselves in this challenging yet exciting industrial training. Through this training, they have created an opportunity for students to broaden up their mind, gain first hand experiences in oil and gas industry as well as being exposed to different working environments. Plus, students have opportunity to perform a project in a real working place for the rest of 3 months. Other than that, students have chances to identify their potential employer during internship.
A special appreciation and thanks to my Host Company supervisor, Mr Hamzah Bin Nawawi, you have been a tremendous mentor for me. Your advice on both research as well as on my career have been priceless. I would also like to thank Mr Nik, Mr Hatta, Mr Tarmizi, Mr Azman and Mr Amir Azuan for their exemplary guidance, monitoring and constant encouragement throughout my training period.
Last but not least, I would like to express my profound gratitude and deep regards to my family. Your prayer for me was what sustained me thus far. I would also love to thanks all my friends and colleagues who supported and incanted me to strive towards my goal.
