UTM GAMES 2022 KTF

Mini Report

UTM Games 2022 KTF is an association program organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia held every semester. For this semester, the program lasted for 5 days from 28 November to 1 December 2022. The aim of the program is to foster a sense of camaraderie, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students. By participating in this five-day event, students have the opportunity to showcase their talents and skills in various sports and games, promoting a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness. I have participated as ‘Perbarisan’ where I joined as a marching representative for KTF. I joined this program because I want to grow my skill set by taking a step outside of my comfort zone and try something different. It is also an opportunity for me to improve my self-confidence through access to learning and self-growth and also making new friends.

In this program, I was a member of ‘Perbarisan’ which was in charge of marching representative KTF. Before the program started, I joined a lot of marching practice from 6 November to 17 November 2022. My team that represents KTF thought together ideas of cheers, and then a few ideas were accepted then we’re ready for the games. During the preparation of the games day, I have made a lot of new friends, and learned a lot new things. During the program timeline, we have joined the marching section along with other College of UTM. It was a very memorable memory, even though we did not win first place for the marching, I was happy nevertheless.

It is a challenging program for me as it is because this program is an important program that represents and carries the good name of the association. Thus, it is really important for me and my team. Throughout the event, I had the opportunity to develop and refine various graduate attributes. Communication skills were vital in coordinating with team members and conveying ideas effectively. Thinking skills came into play when brainstorming and problem-solving to ensure smooth execution. Leadership skills were honed as I took initiative and guided my team towards our shared goals. Additionally, teamwork skills were crucial in collaborating with fellow committee members and other teams involved in the program.

Overall, the experience allowed me to understand the importance of my role within a team and the responsibility that comes with it. By working together effectively, we were able to contribute to the success of the event and uphold the reputation of the association. It was a valuable lesson in collaboration, leadership, and commitment, further reinforcing the importance of these attributes in both personal and professional endeavors.

Self Reflection

Participating in the UTM Games 2022 KTF as a member of the 'Perbarisan' team was a rewarding experience. Despite not winning, I learned valuable lessons in teamwork, communication, and perseverance. Collaborating with peers during rehearsals and marching alongside other colleges of UTM taught me the importance of representing our association with pride. Through this experience, I developed key graduate attributes such as communication skills, critical thinking, leadership, and teamwork. Overall, it was a memorable journey of self-discovery and personal growth, reaffirming my commitment to stepping outside my comfort zone and embracing new challenges.
