INDUSTRIAL TRAINING AT SENJU (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD

For my industrial training, I have successfully completed the training at Senju (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, with the duration of three months which is from 10th June 2019 to 30th August 2019. Basically, Senju (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is a manufacturing industry that involves in manufacturing of chemicals, electrical and mechanical preparation. However, the main focus area of the business for this company is the manufacturing of solder and flux. At Senju (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, for the past three months, I have been placed under the Quality Assurance and Quality Control department which commonly called as QA/QC department. Generally, this QA/QC department focus more on the quality analysis of the products that they produced and the have to assure that the product is well-produced without any flaws. While being under the QA/QC department, I have been guided by my industrial supervisor which is Mr. Hawari bin Elias, a senior executive of the QA/QC department and have been taught by a team consists of 5 people which is Ms. Wan Syamsiah, Mr. Zaki, Mr. Effi, and Mr. Haziq. Attached below are the pictures of me with my industrial supervisor and my teammate during three months of training.

Since I was assigned to the QA/QC department, my training basically involves quality analysis where I was required to conduct a few tests in order to analysis the quality of the product. Since Senju (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd produces solder and flux, the quality analysis that I have been conducted is mainly for the solder and flux product. Aside from quality analysis on the products, I also have been entrusted with assisting the team in completing a few of the analysis. Since some of the analysis requires professional skill, the task for that analysis was divided in which I conducted the test that I am capable of. During the three months of period, I have been taught on how to handle the chemical waste properly and also have been taught to handled a few machines that I have never encountered.

I have learned and acquired a lot of valuable experience, knowledge and personal development from my industrial training. First and foremost is the knowledge related to chemical engineering which I got from my supervisor and teammate. I also have learned and experience the working lifestyle and ethics that should be practiced and applied. I got a clear view on how to handled chemical waste and also got a lot of knowledge about it from my supervisor. It also emphasizes my ethics in handling any waste so that it brings no harm to the environment. I also obtained a chance to emphasize my personal skill and other skill with the help of my teammates such as communication skill and solving problem skill. With my supervisor, I got a chance to do a real-life simulation in order to relate either the suggested theories can be applied to the problem or not. By doing the quality analysis, these tasks have helped me to emphasizes my analytical skill, observation skill as well as hands-on skill. I can apply every skill that I have learned in my final year project and in my future career as well. Besides, assisting the team in completing several tasks help me to further develop team-work skill and become a great team-player. I also got a chance to learn and handle a few machines and equipment such as 785 DMP Titrino Machine, Viscosity Machine, Tackiness Machine, Drawing Machine, ICP Machine, and Spark Machine.
