Reflection for Project 1 PSDA

Introduction

For our first project , we need to do some survey to collect data form responses . The background of this study is to find out about the effectiveness for the first years students transportations because first-year students are not allowed to take vehicles to university. So, this idea is come out from when there’s  some students of UTM that make a report to the college about the parking issues of first year student that bring vehicles without any transportation pass sticker.

Reflection

Why we are studying this topic is because we want to collect University of Technology student analysis data on the effectiveness of first year student transportation with the level measurement of Data analysis such as Nominal scale, Ordinal scale, Ratio scale and Interval scale  We study this case is to be able to effectively conduct research. Without the use of statistic it would be very difficult to make decision based on the data collected from our project. Without statistic we have no way making an educated decision between the two possibilities.

We will be able to decide which of the two possibilities is more likely to be true. Then, another point is about research should be made. It is important for a researcher to know what statistic they want to use uninterpretable.

Besides that , this project difficult to handle during MCO. Do discussion via Whatsapp is not very efficient. Sometimes we have problems with our internet connection. Other than that , to learn about using R language is very hard. I really need to see my lecturer's face through my eyes and not just see the laptop. And sometimes to learn from google or youtube is not enough. We getting tired and not enough sleep because we need to spent all day with laptop. Too many assignment need to finish in the same time with others subject.

However , we still can handle it. Hopefully, MCO will over soon.

Conclusion

Based on the survey, we can say that for our main aim which is “Do you agree if the Year 1 students bring their own transportation?” concludes that 83% of the students chose “Yes” while 17% chose “No”. This concludes that majority of the students agree on our main finding.

This is because, from the survey, high percentage in scale “Always” stated that students use transport in a week frequently. This means, UTM students do really need own transportation to either go to class or any other business around the university.

Next, 51% students stated 15 minutes of journey from their college to faculty. If we compared the journey time with the time taken by students to wait for the UTM shuttle bus, 38% of them agreed that 15 minutes were ¬¬allocated, they had used around the same minutes to wait for the bus and then to arrive at the faculty.
