Self-Reflection

The impact of the activity on the development of the students' Graduate Attributes is that I learn on how to present about the programming language with other students. I need to do preparation in order to give the best outcome so that the participants can follow the coding step by step. As they are still new in learning HTML and CSS, I must demonstrate one by one the coding so that the participants not lost in how to make the coding function. Working as a team can help us become better leaders and team players. Therefore, discussion between mentors were important and to avoid any miscommunication. The challenges during this program was that the participants does not install the software to run the coding. Thus, we need to use online editor tools and notepad. The advantage towards the activity is that the participants can learn what are happens behind every website that we encounter every day and how the interface works.

Position/Role

Mentor for Website Coding Workshop

Mini Report

Justification in joining this activity is that this activity about teaching participants about website coding that were focus on two programming language, HTML and CSS. During the program, my team and I need to share our knowledge regarding the programming language using online editor tools or notepad. We had divided among mentors on which part should we present and while not presenting our part, we must supervise the participants if they have encounter any problems. The leadership and teamworking skills was important as we have six mentors among us. In order to make the learning process interactive we need to communicate with the participants and guide them to follow the coding. In terms of thinking skills, we must think the best example of coding to show the participants because they might have less knowledge regarding programming language. Thus, providing a simple example and exercise can boost their idea about how the codes work.
