PSDA Project 2 Reflection

This project is our final for the course probability and statistical data analysis. we were given a choice to choose what we want to do for our data set and what project we are going to do. I chose the death rate by obesity in the state of Alabama, USA. this project covers to the accuracy of the data set to the mean death rate from obesity in the state of Alabama. I run a few different tests of statistical analysis. the first test is a hypothesis testing of one sample with the formula of test on mean with the variance unknown and the total sample is less than 30.  given the data and the mean death rate of Alabama found, we can test if the data set is accurate. The second test is the correlation. This test is to see the scatter plot between the population and the death rate. The test of regression and also the goodness of fit test is also conducted to see how accurate and true the data set is.  The full report can be found at the bottom of the page.

For project 2, I have faced a few challenges along the way. firstly, is to find a credible source of raw data and date to use for the study.  To solve this problem, I used a website called the data world to search for it.  it is a credible source to get data as it collects data from trusted websites and companies. Secondly, is time management. For this project, it is clashing with a few of my other work as they all have almost the same deadline to submit. to counter this, I have planned a day to day worksheet to get by with time to spare to do changes in case something had gone wrong.  Aside from the problems encountered, I also learned a lot from this project. firstly is how to do a project individually. This is because usually a project is done with team members to help and carry some of the load. But this time, I had to do this on my own and that has helped me to think differently on how to do this more efficiently and more resourcefully. secondly is work on my practical skills and analytical skills. This project has helped me with improving and sharpening my skills in analytics. In the future, I hope that I am able to do the work more efficiently and smoothly as I have gained more experience from this project.
