SCSP1513-05 Technology and Information System: Reports
Attached herewith are the reports our group made based on the visits done throughout the TIS course.
SCSP1513-05 Technology and Information System: Reflection
This semester I took the course Technology and Information System (Course Code: SCSP1513) in section 5. The lecturer responsible for taking care of us in this section is Dr. Adila Firdaus binti Arbain. To be completely frank, I expected that this course would be easier than the courses that I had taken on the previous semester, since this course is supposed to be a first-semester course and this is my second semester here, but boy was I completely wrong. Right from the get-go, I landed on the wrong foot by missing 1 class due to scheduling crash followed by that time when I missed a replacement class due to having another class at the time the replacement class was held and forgetting to tell the Dr. about it. After that comes the industrial visits during which our group managed to blow the reports to bits and get meager grades for it, despite our efforts which evidently is not enough to be level with the requirements. But the nail to the coffin was the Design Thinking project. It was a total catastrophe because we don't really have a solid grasp on what database is, and apparently we actually got to choose to have it explained first, but none of us knew that that was an option so that is that. We managed to pull through the pinch though, thank God.
Having undergone these experiences, I have learned a number of valuable lessons. Always expect the worst! That is something that I must always keep in mind, although I do that most of the time, due to my lenience I forgot to expect the worst for this course which led to my own undoing. Always listen for options! So that I can choose the most convenient for my well-being, this also goes hand-in-hand with expecting the worst. Since I expected the worst, it is natural to find a way to overcome the expectation by going for an option that is more convenient thus lessening the burden to focus elsewhere. Get good! Because no matter how convenient something is for us, if we are simply not good, the result won't be good. That is why self-improvement is very important and should be considered very seriously not only in terms of academics but also other aspects of life as well.
