System Analysis and Design

The main focus of this course is to provide a practical approach of systems analysis and designing skills for the students using structured methodology. Hence the course enables students to study information system requirements for any system application within an organizational context. The contents are sequentially organized directly from planning, analysis, designing and implementation phases. From the resulting output of the planning and analysis phase shall enable students to form input, output and interface design. Hence a prototype design can be demonstrated.

My Reflections

This course has taught me about how we can plan to have projects/programs done faster and more efficiently. Obviously no one wants to have half his project done only to realize he did something wrong so he would have to start over again. I have learnt of various diagramming techniques to plan projects more efficiently. The diagramming techniques and planning techniques that have been taught are frequently used by professionals to have their projects delivered on time. I have also learnt how to communicate with clients more efficiently to better understand the features they would like to implement. All these skills, taught in this course, have drastically improved how I approach my coding sessions.

My first Impressions

The name gave away what I was going to learn, so by the time our lecturers went to the introduction of the course, I had already figured out what was going to get taught. However, I did not expect there would be so many planning stages to communicate with clients, so that the prototype turns out to be what the clients wanted.
