The BIONIGHT Dinner 2023, hosted by Symbiosis, the vibrant student body of the Faculty of Science, was a spectacular celebration that transcended mere academic achievements. As a dedicated committee member and enthusiastic participant, I had the privilege of contributing to an event that held immense significance for our graduating fourth-year students.

The evening was a symphony of camaraderie and accomplishment, bringing together students, faculty, and esteemed guests under the banner of shared academic experiences. From meticulously planning the program to ensuring every detail was flawless, my role as a committee member was both challenging and rewarding.

The Sumayau Workshop and Competition, hosted by Persatuan Mahsiswa Sabah (PERMAS), was an immersive cultural extravaganza that left an indelible mark on my experience as both a committee member and a passionate participant. As a committee member, I had the privilege of contributing to the planning and execution of this vibrant event, working alongside dedicated individuals who shared a common goal – to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Sabah through the traditional dance form of Sumayau.

The workshop provided a platform for participants like me to delve into the intricacies of Sumayau, learning its nuanced movements and understanding the historical and cultural significance behind each step. It was a journey of discovery, as seasoned instructors guided us through the graceful motions and rhythmic beats that define this traditional dance.

In December 2023, I had the privilege of spearheading Bengkel Aspirasi Kesenian Asas Tari (BAKAT), a dance workshop that transcended the boundaries of artistic expression. As the proud program director, my vision was to create an immersive space where participants could not only refine their dance skills but also cultivate a deeper connection with the art form.

BAKAT aimed to be more than just a workshop; it was a journey of self-discovery through movement. The carefully curated sessions encompassed various dance styles, allowing participants to explore the richness of cultural diversity within the realm of dance. From traditional folk dances to contemporary choreography, every step taken at BAKAT was a step towards understanding the universal language of dance.
