I join the career talk programme as a participant.

An online webinar ‘IChemE Career Talk’ by Institution of Chemical Engineer UTM Student Chapter (IChemE UTM-SC). The objective of this program is providing an insight to chemical engineering students and engage some thought with experience panel that already in career about the career and opportunities in real life. Every panel is sharing their experience and thought about their career experience. They share how to deal and coupe in the company and how enhance soft skill and skill related in the career life. Students were given the exposure about the job situation where it is very important for student before going into real industry career. In the online webinar, the participant can also give some questions toward the panel about the career tips, situation etc. The talk give us full awareness for us to make some preparation before we begin in career life.

Reflecting back on the career talk, it was a wonderful opportunity to get engage with someone that have a lot of experience in industry career. I feel that, I learned a lot and developed a vast number of skills and knowledge from just one talk. They shared their tips and also hard situation they overcome in their career experience. As a chemical engineering student, this program very beneficial program as it opens my eyes to see the reality of work environment. We also get a clearer sight of our own career development later. In class, we only learn the theory of chemical engineering without a little exposure to the real work environment. We finally grasp how crucial it is, regardless of how fundamental what we are leaning now is, because every advanced project will always return to basics at some point. Furthermore, we recognize that the current market requires multi-talented personnel when it comes to self-improvement strategies for increasing self-potential. However, it is not only hard skills that are vital; soft talents are also taken into consideration. We'll work on soft skills such as presentation, teamwork, and time management, among other things. Last but not least, we'd like to convey our gratitude to everyone who helped make our vacation a reality and left us with a memorable experience.
