INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

VIDEO REFLECTION

Casual and Honest Reflection

My industrial training experience at Finexus has been great. Of course, there were ups and downs, but overall it has been rewarding, eye opening and full of valuable knowledge. It pushed me out of my comfort zone in ways I never experienced.

I learned a lot—Spring Boot applications, fintech stuff, and a bunch of new tech stacks. But I’m not here to talk about the techy stuff. This is about my transformation as a person at Finexus.

Here is the place where I truly stepped out of my comfort zone for the first time in my life. It was where I lived alone, renting a room and joined a company that I had never even heard of before. I stepped into this internship period with an unhealthy body, and maybe a slight ego thinking I was somewhat good at software engineering.

But this experience changed all that.

I realized there was so much more to software engineering than I knew. If I had to describe my skill level in Valorant ranks terms, I'd probably be Bronze. Maybe peak Bronze 3 (which is bad lol).

It’s also where I decided to change my physique. I was unhealthy, and this experience made me say, "Yea I gotta fix ts". Since then, I haven’t skipped a week at the gym. At the very least, I showed up. The food here is pretty good and quite healthy too, which helped.

And honestly, the biggest change was my sense of responsibility. It really hit me when I was given tasks by my supervisor. Shoutout to you Swee Keong.

Overall, this experience has shaped me into a better version of myself. Whether it’s through personal purpose or the opportunities Finexus has given me, I’m grateful for that.

Very excited for what's ahead.

Oh, and the toilets here? Top tier. Gonna miss them a lot. Along with the food and the gym.
