Digital logic is for a first year student course in the School of Computing (SC), Faculty of Engineering, UTM. Mainly there are two main parts that we are going to learn throughout the course, the first part covers combinational logic design and second part includes a memory element. The first part consists of an introduction to digital logic, number systems and codes, logic basic gates, Boolean algebra and logic simplication, combinational circuit design logic and functional logic combination.
On the other hand the second part covers the introduction to the latch and flip-flops, design counter, and shift counters.
In my opinion, this subject could be hard or easy depending on how you approach the course. This course need a lot of practice and basic understanding on the topics. It provides a fundamental understanding on how circuits and hardware communicate within a computer.
Basically, digital logic is typically embedded into most electronic devices, including calculators, computers, video games, and watches. This field is utilized by many careers that work with computers and technology, such as engineers and repair technicians. It equips me with future knowledge that could be very useful in the industry.
