This programme is held online at Facebook page Masjid Sultan Ismail, UTM. I chose to join this activity because I am eager to know in deep on the current situation in Gaza, Palestine. I was attracted to this programme as soon as I know that the speaker is the citizen of Gaza itself. As we know, hearing from the first party will definitely giving us the true and trusted informations instead of third party.
Some of the Graduate Attributes that we gained from the programme are the Leadership and Teamworking skills, Adaptability and Global Citizen. Leadership and Teamworking skills comes in when the citizens of Gaza need to fight against their enemies in order to protect their holy place. This is where the leader will play an important role in leading his team to protect their dignity at its best. Incorrect leader chosen, team will lost direction and resulted in losing the war. Adaptability is when we learn the condition and situation that are currently happening on the Gaza land. If we study these thoroughly, we will adapt faster when we reach there in case of any emergency occasion such as joining the volunteering team. Global citizen is where I am eagar to learn about the world, care about the citizens and willing to help them in need.
During the talk, speaker, Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri did tell us about the current situation that was happening on Gaza land. In addition, he did tell us about the history of the Jewish settlement at the holy country, Palestine. He shares with us how he feels every night thinking about his family, wife and kids. Sleepless nights with bombs and missiles flying around above their house. Since he had already be a citizen of Gaza for a longtime, these is actually some normal event for them. They adapted to it. All they need to do is continuously pray to God to strengthen them physically and mentally to win that war against the Zionist. I had goosebumps listening to every details of the sharing.
Self-Reflection
From this sharing session, I have learned that I need to have a very good leadership and teamworking skills in order to successfully complete a mission. One silly mistake made and the whole team will suffer. I have also learned to adapt as quick as possible to strengthen myself internally and externally. Adaptability is very important when dealing with situation that is out of our comfort zone. Someone that adapt quickly will most likely to excel in whatever job that given to him.
One of the advantages of this activity is to expose the viewer on the importance of protecting our homeland in the name of religion as it is the our main objective in our life. We are not just talking about the things that we can see, but also the things that we cannot even see, touch and feel it. We can practice the behaviour of the citizen of the Gaza and apply to our current situation. At this time of writing, we know that currently there is an action of insulting Prophet Muhammad by some political organization in one country. This is truly unforgivable. As Muslim, we need to know our responsibility to handle this kind of situation.
One of the challenges that I have encountered is my limited knowledge on the current issue. In order to overcome this problem, I need to read more books and do research on things related to Islam's holy place. The least I can do is to spread awareness on the social media as this action may impact the world as it is read and watched by people around the world and across the globe.
