Mini Report

On the 9th of March 2022, a crucial program was held via a Webex meeting and was also streamed live on the UTM Student Affairs Facebook page. The esteemed speaker for this event was YBRS. Prof. Dr. Shamsul Bin Sahibuddin, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs (HEP). The primary objective of the program was to provide vital information to students who were returning to UTM amidst the ongoing pandemic.

Given the circumstances of the pandemic, Prof. Shamsul took on the responsibility of delivering important information regarding the procedures for returning to UTM. Throughout the program, he highlighted four key guidelines that would govern students' activities within the university. These guidelines encompassed entering campus for staying purposes, entering and exiting on a daily basis, daily entry requirements, and exiting the campus for temporary absences.

One significant announcement made during the program was that Gate 1 and Gate 3 would remain open throughout the week for students' convenience when entering and exiting the campus. To further aid students, Prof. Shamsul informed them about the availability of the UTM Smart application, which contained comprehensive student guidelines for reference.

Importantly, the program allowed students to engage directly with Prof. Shamsul and seek clarification on any aspects of the guidelines. This interactive session provided a platform for students to ask questions and receive answers directly from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor himself.

Overall, this program served as a vital resource for students returning to UTM, providing them with essential guidelines and information necessary to navigate the challenging circumstances posed by the pandemic. Prof. Shamsul's clear communication and comprehensive approach ensured that students were well-informed about the protocols and procedures, instilling confidence and facilitating a smooth transition back to campus life.

Self-Reflection

Attending the program on 9th March 2022 through Webex and UTM Student Affairs Facebook was an insightful experience. It was a crucial event considering the ongoing pandemic, and it aimed to provide essential information to UTM students returning to the campus. YBRS. Prof. Dr. Shamsul Bin Sahibuddin, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (HEP), was the distinguished speaker for the session. His presence instilled confidence in me, knowing that the university administration was taking our safety seriously.

During the program, Prof. Shamsul discussed four key guidelines that would help us navigate the new procedures for entering, exiting, and staying on campus. These guidelines covered entering for staying purposes, daily entry and exit, daily entry specifics, and exit campus procedures for staying out purposes. By sharing these guidelines, Prof. Shamsul ensured that we were well-informed about the protocols to follow.

Moreover, he informed us about the accessibility of Gate 1 and Gate 3, which would be open throughout the week to facilitate our entry and exit. This flexibility was reassuring as it provided convenience and ease of movement for students.

Prof. Shamsul also emphasized the importance of utilizing the UTM smart application, which served as a valuable resource for accessing the student guidelines. This technological approach demonstrated UTM's commitment to staying connected and updated in this digital age.

I appreciated the interactive nature of the program, as Prof. Shamsul encouraged us to ask questions regarding the guidelines. This allowed for clarification and ensured that we were well-prepared for our return to UTM.

Overall, the program with Prof. Shamsul was informative and assuring. It provided clarity regarding the protocols and guidelines for returning to UTM during the pandemic, making me feel more confident and prepared for the upcoming transition.
