Reflection of Project 1
Descriptive analysis is a sort of data analysis that aids in accurately describing, displaying, or summarising data points so that patterns may appear that satisfy all of the data's requirements. It is one of the most crucial processes in the examination of statistical data. It provides you with an analysis of the distribution of your data, aids in the detection of errors and outliers, and enables you to spot patterns between variables, preparing you for future statistical analysis.
I have learned many things whilst conducting Project 1 for the subject Probability & Statistical Data Analysis (PSDA). This project is conducted in a group of 4 people. The project specification was for us to determine a suitable topic to conduct a survey and accumulate data from the community. My team and I have decided on the topic " A study of music behavior toward academic performance". From this project, I get to know to make an inferential analysis of our findings. We were asked to gather the information that is related to our case study. Hence, we successfully gather 93 responses by using Google Form. My experience in conducting this simple research is beyond great since it is indeed a great thing to gather all this information and explain it by using graphing and calculations to get the conclusion.
Reclection of Project 2
Scientific research is a type of application of scientific procedures and testing hypotheses, which is the compatibility between a theory and facts that already exist in the real world. Usually, this relationship can be read and understood by focusing on key variables and the data. The advancement of statistical software technology makes it easier and more convenient to process, elaborate, and compute data. Using statistical tools to aid in hypothesis testing and comparing it to manual processing will be covered in this session. The program is called RStudio. The reason RStudio was selected is that it has a design for data analysis and development, can handle practically all aspects of data analysis, creates excellent visuals, can build interactive web-based applications, and is available in a variety of packages.
From this project, I can also gain new knowledge on handling R programming to form an analysis of the data. I learnt to implement hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, and even chi-square tests towards completing this project. It is indeed a hard task since R programming is not usual to me but with the notes provided, I successfully implement the codes.
Introduction
This course aims to introduce some statistical methods as tools for data analysis. The pupils will initially be introduced to numerous types of data. The information represented by the many sorts of variables is gathered from various sources, as well as routine and industrial activities. The visual representation of the data precedes the analysis. Additionally, some techniques for parameter estimation from various distributions will be covered in the course. Hypothesis testing is used to undertake additional data analysis. A few models are used to fit collections of data. Students should be able to use some statistical models at the end of the course to analyse data using the software that is readily available.
