Pertandingan Debat Statistik 2022 is a national-level debate competition that took place on October 18th until 20th, 2022 at Institut Latihan Statistik Malaysia(ILSM) Sungkai,Perak. The event was organized by Department of Statistic Malaysia (DOSM). The competition aimed to bring together debate teams from various universities across the country to showcase their skills and engage in intellectual discourse. A total of 12 universities participated in this event, making it a highly competitive and prestigious platform for debaters.
Debating competitions provide a forum for students to express their opinions, develop critical thinking skills, and enhance their public speaking abilities. Reflection
Participating in the Pertandingan Debat Statistik was an exhilarating and enriching experience for me. As I stepped onto the national stage, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness, knowing that I would be competing against debaters from 12 other esteemed universities.Throughout the competition, I was pushed to my limits, both intellectually and emotionally. The rigorous debates challenged me to think critically, analyze complex issues from multiple perspectives, and construct well-reasoned arguments. It was a true test of my research skills and ability to articulate my thoughts persuasively.
Collaborating with my teammates was a highlight of the competition. Together, we brainstormed ideas, honed our arguments, and supported each other throughout the intense preparation process. The bond we formed was not only based on a shared goal of success but also on the mutual respect and admiration we developed for one another's strengths.Participating in a national-level debate competition also provided me with a unique opportunity to interact with debaters from different universities. Engaging in intellectual discussions with individuals who had diverse backgrounds and perspectives broadened my understanding of various issues and challenged my preconceived notions. It was inspiring to witness the passion and dedication that each participant brought to the table.
Beyond the competition itself, the experience of representing my university filled me with immense pride. The support from my university faculty, friends, and family throughout the competition journey was invaluable and motivated me to push myself further. Participating in the Pertandingan Debat Statistik has not only allowed me to grow as a debater but also as an individual.
