Internship (WEEK 3)

Day 11 - 9/7/2018

Time : 0800-1800

Venue : NSF Engineering Sdn Bhd (HQ), Pasir Gudang

Activities :

  1. Learn to make a Calibration certificate
  • Using excel, I learned how to key in register number, certificate number, calibration data, customer details, item details (eg. Serial number, model, manufacturer)
  • Register system must be same as in certificate.
  • Study calculation on uncertainty based on the accuracy of the equipment that has been fixed by manufacturer.
  • Calibration certificate is important as it shows the proof data that their equipment has been through calibration and in good condition.

Day 13 - 11/7/2018

Venue : Calibration Laboratory, NSF Engineering Sdn Bhd (HQ), Pasir Gudang

             Klinik Qualitas, Pasir Gudang

Activities :

  1. Medical check-up
  • Medical check-up for rapid, pengerang project.

 

  1. Calibration Certificate Bergading (EAT)
  • Consists of 5 systems:
  • Check and make sure all the certificate informations are same in the register system
  • If it is not same with the register system, I have to re-edit and print new certificate.
  • All certificates that has been checked will be stored in a file.

 

Day 14 - 12/7/2018

Time : 0800-1800

Venue :  Sternmaid Asia Pacific, Nusajaya

  Calibration Laboratory, NSF Engineering Sdn Bhd (HQ), Pasir Gudang.

Activities :

  1. Calibration on site at Sternmaid
  • Together with Mr Raja, I followed him to Sternmaid to do conveyer calibration.
  • Using standards weight, we calibrate the conveyer.
  • Firstly, we need to make sure the conveyer is level by adjust the conveyer feet.
  • Then put the weight on the conveyer starting from 3kg, 6kg, 9kg until maximum weight 30kg.
  • The display results is then recorded in the data sheet.

  1. Calibration of pressure recorder at calibration lab
  • I was assigned to calibrate pressure recorder
  • Pressure recorder is an electromechanical device that records mechanical input using different colour pens onto a circular charts.
  • The accuracy class will cover 10% to 100% of the range. The test method maybe either by comparing selected indication with the pressure to be applied at these points or by comparing selected pressure with resultant indications of the unit under test(UUT). The test shall be made with increasing and decreasing pressure.

 

Day 20 - 13/7/2018

Time : 0800-1800

Venue : Calibration Laboratory, NSF Engineering Sdn Bhd (HQ), Pasir Gudang.

Activities :

  1. Dismantle ball valve (TITAN, Pasir Gudang)
  • With Mr Fairoz, I learnt and the same time help him dismantle a leak ball valve from customer (TITAN) in order to service the ball valve.
  • A ball valve is a form of quarter-turn valve which uses a hollow, perforated and pivoting ball to control flow through it. It is open when the ball's hole is in line with the flow and closed when it is pivoted 90-degrees by the valve handle.
  • All the dismantle pieces are kept properly to prevent it from missing.
