- I was placed in calibration lab department.
- I was introduced to officers and staffs of calibration lab department.
- Calibration laboratory department
- Consists of 3 different labs which is temperature lab, pressure lab and weight/force lab and one testing area.
Day 2 - 26/6/2018
Time : 0800-1800
Venue : Calibration Laboratory, NSF Engineering Sdn Bhd (HQ), Pasir Gudang.
Activities :
- Clean and rearrange all the equipments in the store
- Mr Raja, head of calibration lab asked me to arrange all the equipments according to their functionality. Eg; Electrical equipment, mechanical equipment.
- This is to ensure we can easily find the equipment when we want to use it.
Before After
- Learn how to conduct valve test (pop test)
- At testing area, Mr Fauzan teach us how to conduct valve test.
- The purpose of valve test is to make sure a valve is still work according to their specifications.
- Personal Protective Equipment is required when conducting a valve test.
- From this, I get to learn how to safely conduct a valve test.
Day 3 - 27/6/2018
Time : 0800-1800
Venue : Calibration Laboratory, NSF Engineering Sdn Bhd (HQ), Pasir Gudang.
Activities :
- Valve test calibration from customers (Eftech International Sdn Bhd)
- My friend Afiq and I were given a task to do valve test calibration (36 units).
- All the results from the test have been recorded to give back to customers.
- From this task, I get to learn how to complete a task in given time.
Day 4 - 28/6/2018
Time : 0800-1800
Venue : Calibration Laboratory, NSF Engineering Sdn Bhd (HQ), Pasir Gudang.
Activities :
- Continue conduct valve test calibration from yesterday.
- Learn how to calibrate pneumatic control module (PACE6000)
- Using Beamax pressure calibrator (hand pump), Mr Raja teach me how to properly calibrate pneumatic control module.
- When we applied the pressure using pressure calibrator, the unit under test (UUT), which is pneumatic control module should display the same reading.
- All the results then have been recorded in the data sheet.
- From this calibration, I get to know why calibration is important to make sure the equipment we use is accurate.
Day 5 - 28/6/2018
Time : 0800-1800
Venue : Calibration Laboratory, NSF Engineering Sdn Bhd (HQ), Pasir Gudang.
Activities :
- Bubble wrap all the valves to send back to customers (Eftech International Sdn bhd)
- Calibrate and repair differential pressure gauge
- Using Beamax pressure calibrator (hand pump), teach me how to calibrate differential pressure gauge correctly.
- When we applied the pressure using pressure calibrator, the unit under test (UUT), which is differential pressure gauge did not display the same reading. Repairing needs to be done.
- After the repair work has been done, I have to recalibrate the differential pressure gauge.
- All the results then have been recorded in the data sheet.
- From this task, I get to know how to dismantle and repair a pressure gauge.
- Calibration of stabilizing drying oven
- Brand : Ozweld
