Course Synopsis
This course is designed to introduce some statistical techniques as tools to analyse the data. In the beginning the students will be exposed with various forms of data. The data represented by the different types of variables are derived from different sources; daily and industrial activities. The analysis begins with the data representation visually. The course will also explore some methods of parameter estimation from different distributions. Further data analysis is conducted by introducing the hypothesis testing. Some models are employed to fit groups of data. At the end of course the students should be able to apply some statistical models in analysing data using available software.
Project 2
Introduction Project 2
In this Project 2, My group and I are requiring to conduct an inference statistical analysis that cover the following analysis based on selected dataset. We used a dataset from a Sales in Superstore in Chicago in the year 2019 and apply what we learned in our subject:
- Hypothesis testing 1-sample
- Correlation
- Regression
- One-way ANOVA

After learning Probability & Statistical Data Analysis in this semester, I learned several type of statistical analysis tools that can help organization or anyone to analysis the data. Then it can help to come up a solution or answer from the data that is collected.
There are many experiences that I got from project 1 and project 2. First, I learned to convince the community to answer our survey that we created. Then, my group do some discussion and analysis on their mean, bar chart or anything related from the survey. From project 1, we learned to know each others and be a great group as well as being able to compete with other groups.
In project 2, it's not same as project 1 where project 2 used secondary data to do the analysis. This project can build up my skills using R Studio to do analysis the data. There different type that we learn about coding in R-Studio from theoretically class and need to apply in this project. It gain many valuable experiences for me. This RStudio requires programming skills to make it easier for me to perform analysis quickly and accurately and provide the necessary information. It takes a long time to acquire these skills if doing this alone. However, having other group members who can share ideas and learn from each other can help me complete the assigned tasks. Also, our lovely lecturer, Dr. Nor Azizah binti Ali was very helpful to us when having problems with datasets and made me fall in love with this subject.
Lastly, i am thankful to be able to study this subject because this world is always playing with data. I hope it helps me in the future to become the best software engineer.
