Final Year Project 1

Final year project is one of the requirements for the final year student before graduate.  As for me, I have been working on a project entitled '3D printed microstrip patch antenna for 5G application'. The objective of this project is:

• To design and test 3D printed microstrip patch antenna for 5G application 

For your information, 3D printing is one of the additive manufacturing technologies that has gain popularity for time saving and complex design. This technology increases a degree of flexibility for potential 3D RF applications such as wearable and conformal antennas. In this project, I need to design a 3D printed microstrip patch antenna for 5G application. Talking about 5G, it will change the entire landscape of how we live, work and play. It will do game-changing experiences, ultra-fast download and upload speeds, and access to advanced technologies like virtual reality, artificial intelligence, augmented reality and more. Besides that, 5G has 5 great facts:

1. Everything in real-time: 
   5G will be able to deliver a much stronger network connection and lower latency, meaning you can experience everything in real-time, when they're actually happening. With 5G, no one gets left behind.
2. More users, more data. No problem.:
   The network will experience more efficient data delivery. That means there’s less chance of the network clogging up with a high influx of traffic, allowing up to 10x more in connection density.
3. Latency – a thing of the past:
   5G will have almost zero latency and significantly improves application performances.
4. Everything’s connected:
    

   Imagine a world where your watch, washing machine, and car, all talk to each other. That’s a world with 5G.

5. Efficiency at its best:
   Get those concert tickets or new kicks you’ve been wanting for ages with better traffic network efficiency. No more waiting in line when you’re online.

On 10th November 2021, I and my supervisor Pm. Dr. Mohd Haizal Jamaluddin had online meeting using Google Meet platform. Dr. Haizal briefly explained about 3D printed patch antenna.
