This course is designed to introduce some statistical techniques as tools to analyse the data. In the beginning the students will be exposed with various forms of data. The data represented by the different types of variables are derived from different sources; daily and industrial activities. The analysis begins with the data representation visually. The course will also explore some methods of parameter estimation from different distributions. Further data analysis is conducted by introducing the hypothesis testing. Some models are employed to fit groups of data. At the end of course the students should be able to apply some statistical models in analysing data using available software.

Project 2 Presentation

Reflection Project 2

During finishing this Project 2, I have learned a lot of things that is related to this field. My groupmates and I have applied all the knowledge that we have gained during the lecture in completing this project report from the beginning until it was done. All of this knowledge is important especially when conducting the test on the data. All steps need to be organize carefully to avoid any mistake during conducting the test. This steps include the choosing dataset process, pre-processing and analysis process. When choosing the dataset, all of the important elements and variables must be identified first to avoid any error for the next process. Then, the pre processing is also important to prepare the data for further analysis. As for the final process which is the analysis, all the hypothesis and the calculations need to be done correctly to present and deliver the final conclusion. To conclude, this project had taught us how to apply different type of tests during conducting an inference statistical analysis which is necessary and needed to solve the problems in the real world.
