I modelled a few parts of the robotic arm, and I searched for ideas online.
For the time being, I decide to design an arm that has 2 degrees of freedom, which allows for movement in the left, right, up and down direction.
Changes will be made if necessary.

I continued to research on my project and modeling parts of it.
[01/08/18] WEDNESDAY
I continued modelling parts of robotic arm
In the afternoon, there was a session on research and design from my SV
I learnt about the processes of designing a product.
He also shared with me the history of our company's founding.
[02/07/18] THURSDAY
I continued modelling the robotic arm,
When i have finished the arm part (without blades), I notice that the length of the arm is not sufficient.
Hence I decided to change my design to have 3 dof.
I remodelled certain parts of the arm.
[03/08/18] FRIDAY
I continued modeling the arm.
I inquired my SV for advice on the project.
He stated that the aim for this project is to apply everything that I've learnt during this internship in my design.
This would include the knowledge of plastic and metal materials along with their tooling process.
Manufacturing aspects such as designing ribs, determining the wall thickness, and choosing the process need to be considered in doing this project.
Hence, I've decided to finish modelling the robotic arm, and use the rest of my internship period to adjust my design according to the manufacturing aspects.
I will also help out with on-going projects in this company, if needed.
