Report Activity UTM Speed Cube Open 2023

1)Mini Report: This event was organized by the UTM Speedcubbing Organizer at L50 DK3 UTM Johor Bahru. On May 13, 2023, more than 100 people from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore attended the event. people ranged in age from 6 to 20. Numerous competitions are held, including square-1 puzzle, 3x3 till 7x7 cube, blind fold 3x3 until 5x5 cube, and watch puzzle. The main reason I joined the committee for this tournament because I've only recently started playing the 3x3 puzzle cube and I want to learn more about it, such as how professionals solve it and what the most effective tactics are for doing so. Of course, I was also playing a multimedia role at the time. I was astounded when the professional started salving a 3x3 cube in less than 10 seconds while i was taking documentation about that day. The competition was closely contested by participants who broke 10 speed records, with Singaporeans emerging as the overall winners.

Self Reflection: I was able to fully immerse myself in the realm of speedcubing as a result of my involvement on the committee for the UTM Puzzle Cube Championship on May 13, 2023. Having recently begun attempting to solve the 3x3 puzzle cube myself, I initially joined the committee out of curiosity. My objective was to pick the brains of experts, comprehend their methods, and pick up some useful problem-solving strategies. So as a result of this occurrence, I was able to sharpen my problem-solving abilities. It begins with just solving a challenge and progresses to using critical thinking abilities to address more complex issues.Not only does this help me become a better thinker, but it also helps me become a better leader and team player with new people I've just met. In the end, my involvement in the Puzzle Cube Championship committee was not just about cubes and records; it was a journey of self-improvement and a reminder that every endeavor, no matter how small, contributes to personal growth and development.
