Based on IEEExplore, the top searches was image processing thus I go through some of the paper to get some idea regarding to the subject. At first, the information are overwhelming but after discussing with my supervisor, I managed to focus on subtopic related to image processing. During the go through phase, I came across papers related to image recognition. This is including gestures and handwriting. I found this interesting thus I proposed the title to my supervisor. Then, he suggest that the image recognition can be used as a switch to something such as turning on and off the light. Lastly, I determined that I research this future and made a title for the FYP- Gestures recognition for smart house using deep learning.

  • for starters, a tittle is needed as it will cover the research objective and also research scope. The title is " Gesture Recognition for Smart Home Using Deep Learning". The literature review source are from IEEExplore.
  • the problem was the disable and bedridden people need to be independent when they are home alone. this will be improve with a system that can assist a home automation. Thus, the goal of the project is to have a hand-gesture recognition for smart home using deep learning.
  • The hypothesis is a hand gestures recognition for smart home automation using CNN architecture can help the people to be less independent to others when they are at home. The possible device is webcam and also Arduino components.
