Week 6
- Identify and discuss about the problem statement, objective, and scope with Dr. Mastura Shafinaz.
1.Problem Statement:
- The demand for energy storage application has increase to optimize cost, efficiency, reliability, and lifetime whilst meeting the performance requirements of the applications.
- Need for new energy technologies which provide clean and environmentally friendly solutions to meet end user requirements.
- Need the easiest fabrication technique for energy storage application.
- There is currently an enormous global interest towards the design, synthesis and fabrication of improved electrodes for energy storage applications.
2.Objective:
- To fabricate cellulose-based device for energy storage application.
- To characterize physical properties of cellulose-based device structure.
- To analyze the electrical properties of the cellulose-based supercapacitor structure.
3.Scope:
- The technique used for this energy storage application is from using pencil drawing technique.
- The range percentage of graphite between 68%-93% is used to fabricate cellulose paper-based electrode for energy storage device
- The physical properties will be observed in terms of surface morphology and structure composition.
- The electrical properties will be observed in terms of capacitance and I-V characteristics.
Week 7
- Learn how to do the literature review correctly.
- Find out that the literature review can be done by two ways.
- Paper by paper for the self understanding
- Topic by topic for thesis writing
- Dr. Mastura Syafinaz had shown some of the examples of literature review for more understanding.
- Learn how to use EndNotes for thesis writing.
Week 9
- Present the Literure review to Dr Mastura Shafinaz.
- Highlight five important topics of the literature review for thesis writing.
- Fabrication technique
- Type of pencil(percentage of graphite)
- Electrodeposition material
- Operating principle
- Energy storage application
- Learn how to write thesis report based on UTM thesis template.
Week 8
- Starting to do the literature review for the paper that related to the topic.
- Reviewed more about it to gain a better understanding of this project.
- Discussed about the overview for the methodology with Dr. Mastura Shafinaz.
- After the meeting end, I had a more clear vision of my project
Week 10
- Face to face meeting with Dr Mastura Shafinaz at Makmal Mikroelektronik, Aras 3, P19a.
- Learn about Semiconductor Device Analyzer to get more idea about this project.
- Learn about the setting of the device and how to use it.
- Learn about the function of this device such as plot I-V characteristics and export the result to DSV for analyzing the data.
