FYP 1 Reflection of Progress 1

How do I start my project

For the early stage of FYP1 which is from week 1 until week 5, I have attended the Final Year Project 1 briefing by Dr. Mohd Amri bin Md Yunus via Webex meeting regarding information, guidelines, marking and supervision on FYP project's title.Next,First meeting with my supervisor and student that under Dr. Mastura Shafinaz binti Zainal Abidin on the third week of the semester via Webex meeting. After done with the ice breaking session,we started to discuss about the topic and field that we want to do for our Final Year Project. My project title is being proposed by our supervisor which is Fabrication/characterization of cellulose-based device for the energy storage application. From our first meeting, we have been taught what is cellulose and how can it used for towards energy storage device. For the reading material,Dr Mastura Shafinaz had shared an article regarding a Nanocellulose toward Advanced Energy Storage Devices. We also had been assigned to find another article related to this topic.

Problems, Things to improve and Goals of my project.

Our main problem for my FYP project is how to find the most suitable celullose paper-based films substrate for energy storage application. For this project, there are many different fabrication techniques to create cellulose-based paper films. The fabricated cellulose paper-based films will be optimized for best performance energy storage application. The goals of this project is being able to fabricate cellulose paper-based films substrate for energy storage application, characterize the structural and surface morphology and test the performance of the fabricated cellulose paper-based films.

Possible hypothesis/possible device or technology applied to solve the problem.

Basically, the cellulose paper will be used as the main material to be transformed into energy storage devices. The structure to be explored in this study, correlating the studies on electrode materials and processes of fabricated the cellulose paper-based films. For my FYP project,I will use pencil drawing technique to fabricate the cellulose paper-based  films substrate for energy storage application. After that, the structure of the fabricated films substrate will be characterized using microscopy equipment such as field-emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) to observe its surface morphology and cross section. Then,I will use Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) to verify the compositional content of the structure. My Possible hypothesis for this project, which type of fabricated cellulose paper-based films substrate is the most  suitable for energy storage application.
