MINI REPORT :

This event happened during my first semester at faculty of computing UTM. This event was hosted under "BAHAGIAN PEMBAGUNAN KEMAHIRAN BELIA" of "KEMENTERIAN BELIA DAN SUKAN MALAYSIA". I get to joined this tournament through my participant in robotic club called JAZARI. This event is a collection of robotic games where it categorized into 3 category. Our club sent 2 teams for the category called 5kg Tower Conquer. This tournament required three people in a team. My friends and I in a total of six people joined this event. We formed a group and named our group "Jazari JETFIRE". We start the preparation of creating the robot 2 month prior to tournament date which around October. It was a very good experience since we are exposed to learn the programming, electrical and mechanical part of a robot from a scratch. I was assigned to programming department but I do take initiative to help other department in creating the robot, hence gaining a massive knowledge about robot. As a vice-director of the group, I also got the opportunity to handle our team schedule for the training. We held our meeting weekly to discuss updates that our robots have made and exchange information between the two teams. After 2 month of creating the robot, we went to the event using UTM Bus with some of our Seniors as our guidance. There were to total of 24 team which divide by 3 team in each group. My team manage to pass the grouping stage and enter the semi final. However, our journey at there since we got the 4th place which is quite an achievement for us first timer. I really wish we could enter the tournament in the future if the opportunity presents.

SELF REFLECTION :

I believe that luck and teamwork play a big factor in tournaments. Studying a lot of general knowledge also helps to win these kinds of games. It was very easy for me to communicate and execute the task as all of them were my friends. Even though my team and I did not win the first place, UTM other group managed to get second place so it is winnable for us and I enjoyed a lot entering this tournament. Every task was challenging and adventurous. We had a vigorous training session since we are the champion in the previous year so it put us a lot of pressure. In addition to that, I had to manage the training time and also planning time since I am the vice-director of the team. Thus, I learned a lot about leading a team despite being a participant of the competition. One thing I learned from this tournament is everyone has different abilities and everyone does have a special contribution to a task. Thus, it is important to have members with different abilities as different task are given in these kinds of tournaments.
