INTERNET OF THINGS BY MUHAMAD HILMAN BIN HARIS

On 25 SEPTEMBER 2018, students of Electrical Engineering have gathered at Dewan Astana to hear a talk . This talk has two session which is the first one by Sir Anssi Ikonen explaining about Internet of Things (IoT) and the other one by Mr. Lock Choon Hou about Machine Learning.

The first session is about Internet of Things or known as IoT by Sir Anssi Ikonen. His talk is about how the development of the internet. From SMS, email and after that become Internet of services (Web 2.0). Internet had been bring many benefit to the world like business and the most important thing make people can communicate with others without barrier. The future of internet revolution is Internet of Things.

The main purpose of this thing is to help human’s life. This program will be use for any purpose in our life. Some work might be dangerous to do and with this program we can use robot and this also very efficient that will lead to the increase of production and quality. IoT is the network that have many sensors, actuators, software and others that will enables things to connect, collect and exchange data. Some of the examples are like connected roadways that can prevent accident that can lead to injuries or connected factories that very efiicient.

The second session is about Machine Learning conduct by Mr. Lock Choon Hou. He begin his talk by telling that Dota 2 players just destroyed by a killer AI from Elon Musk’s startup. AI is known as Artificial Intelligence that uses statistical techniques to give computer systems the ability to “learn” from data.

AI has been use in daily use and one of the popular is Siri that act as a personal assistant offered by Apple in Iphone. The user can easily find information or anything with help of Siri. This make our life become easier compared to before.

As a participant, I feel that I am very because I could join this program that have expose me to a lot of things. Before this I did not know that Machine Learning and Internet of Things have a lot of benefit to our life. 

In conclusion, I think the talk have been done successfully and all the information delivered very well by both person which is Sir Anssi Ikonen and Mr. Lock Choon Hou. Both of them were very speakers because they have their own skill in taking people’s attention that will lead to the delivery of information become successful.
